Boss GT-1000CORE is a Multi-effects Pedal Introduced

Boss has not only unleashed two new loopers but also introduced its flagship multi-effects pedal GT-1000CORE. It is in no way inferior to its big brother and we would say that it could even be better guitar effects pedal solution for many.

No great secret is made that the new Boss GT-1000CORE is a stripped-down version of the GT-1000, the modeling and multi-effects flagship from Japan. It reminds us of a bit of the now two-year-old Line6 HX Stomp compared to the big Helix from 2015.

The same sound generation is in it: 140 amps and effects for guitar and bass, looper, and tuner. Boss himself calls it “AIRD” (Augmented Impulse Response Dynamics), which is supposed to guarantee a natural feeling and optimal cooperation with external effects pedals. Emulations of all relevant in-house effects are included, including DD-500, MD-500, and RV-500. So we are not worried about the sound, Boss has already proven the skills with his big brother. 24 effects can sound at the same time (for whatever reason we might need it). The conversion and calculation are made with 32 bits (Float), the sample rate is 96 kHz.

In addition to the six controls for the parameters, there is a deeper control with external footswitches and expression pedals, or remotely switch channels on your amp. We find the number of connections remarkable. There are not only dual mono inputs and outputs, but also two FX loops, two expressions or (two-channel) CTL inputs, but also MIDI In and Out as mini jacks and a micro USB to use as an interface use or play on the new firmware. This means that the large GT-1000 can be recreated with the appropriate controller equipment.

Boss GT-1000CORE price and availability

The Boss GT-1000CORE should be available in stores for $699.99. Some dealers, for example, the Bhphotovideo.com, has already listed it for pre-order, and shipping will be starting from the beginning of November.

Last month, Boss introduced the OC-5 Octave Pedal, which features both the legendary mono mode from the 2 and the poly mode from the 3, priced at $129.99.
