Blu Studio G2 HD with 5-inch display, Android 6.0 Announced

Blu is all set to offer an entry level 5-inch model in the US market. Dubbed as Blu Studio G2 HD, this handset is listed on Blu Cell Phone Website without any pricing details. 

This new Blu Phone comes with a 5-inch TFT IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution that can translate a pixel density of 294ppi. The Blu Studio G2 HD packs in 1.3 GHz dual-core processor that’s powered by MediaTek MT6580 chipset paired with Mali-400 GPU along with 1GB of RAM. There is an 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 64GB.

There is a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and able to record full-HD 1080p video at 30fps. There is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera to capture selfie and video calling. It comes with a 2,000mAh battery.

Blu Studio G2 HD is a dual-SIM handset that supports 3G HSPA+ on both the SIMs and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box. Other connectivity options include 2G, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio options.

There is no word on when this handset will be officially available.

Last month, Blu Cell Phones had introduced an Entry-Level 3G smartphone under $80 segment – the Blu Studio G2, priced at $76, and available in Gold, Blue, White and Black color variants. The device features dual-SIM, runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, sports a 5.0-inch HD display, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor with 512MB of RAM.

The Blu smartphone comes with a 5-megapixel camera at front and 5-megapixel autofocus sensor at the back with f/2.8 aperture. The rear camera on Studio G2 has been tagged with LED flash and also able to record HD (1080p) video at 30fps. The device comes with an inbuilt storage of 8GB, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB), packs a 2200mAh battery, and 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, USB 2.0, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
