It is not what the users who are following with interest in the evolution of the Ataribox project were waiting, but it is undoubtedly an Atari brand product. This is Speakerhat and, as the name suggests, it is a baseball-style cap with built-in speakers. The Atari Speakerhat also includes a microphone and a Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, which allows you to make hands-free voice calls and music playback.
Atari adds that it is possible to synchronize two Speakerhats to listen to same music, and the cap also integrates a battery, although it is unclear how much battery capacity and what type of connector it uses for charging. Of course, there is company’s logo as well as the name in beautiful embroidery.
The Atari Speakerhat will connect to any smartphone, tablet, or computer to play any music or other media content, initiate or accept phone calls, receive voice commands, and much more. There is also a Multiplayer Mode, which will enable multiple Speakerhat users to simultaneously listen to a single audio stream in perfect synchronization.
Atari also announced a partnership with NECA, to be aimed at creating a new clothing line inspired by the expected Blade Runner 2049, which debuted in cinemas on October 6 this year. To put it differently, this is another marketing strategy with which Atari tries to exploit its main resource, that is the brand itself. The company also adds that the Atari Speakerhat is limited edition Blade Runner 2049 wearables and is being powered by Audiowear to produce a pretty unique listening experience that can even be shared with friends.
Who is thinking of buying this Speakerhat will have to revisit its plans, as the wearables are not yet on sale and only 10 people will be able to participate in beta test. Interested candidates can sign up here.
