The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 has been officially launched in India. It is mid-budget handset comes with a 5.99-inch 18:9 display, 3GB RAM, Dual Rear Cameras, a rear fingerprint sensor and Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box from the Xiaomi India being launched today.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 price in India starts from Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version and the 64GB storage with 4GB RAM version costs Rs. 12,999. It will go on sale from June 12th via Amazon.in. The handset comes in Elegant Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey color options.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 features a 5.99-inch 2.5D curved glass display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio and 70.8% NTSC Color Gamut, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 450 nits brightness, The device has a metal unibody design and it is powered by a 2GHz octa-core processor which supported by Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage / 4GB RAM with 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 256GB.
On the camera front, the Redmi Y2 flaunts a dual rear camera setup, with the primary camera sporting a 12-megapixel sensor and the secondary camera sporting a 5-megapixel camera. The company is touting a f/2.2 aperture, PDAF autofocus, and LED, apart from an AI Portrait Mode, HDR, and facial recognition. For selfie, it has a 16-megapixel sensor with 2-microns pixels, combining four pixels into one single, oversized pixel. The front camera offers AI Portrait Mode, AI Smart Beauty, Front HDR, and Face Unlock with face recognition.
The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 also has a rear fingerprint sensor and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based on MIUI 9 out of the box. It packs a 3080mAh battery and supports dual SIM slot with dual standby.
