The Redmi Note smartphone series from Xiaomi will add a new member to its family, and the new has been confirmed by the recently leaked slides of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 that summarize the key features of the device.
According to the leaked images, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with FullHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and continue with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 and 660 SoC. A slide mentions both, evidently suggesting that Xiaomi will manufacture two variants – both SoC is anyway based on 14 nm processor, which should show us an improvement in terms of efficiency.
For optics, the Redmi Note 5 will flaunt a 16-megapixel rear autofocus camera with Sony IMX234 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash and PDAF (0.3 seconds to lock the focus). The front will have a 13-megapixel selfie shooter, while it packs 3790mAh battery that can also support QuickCharge 3.0 fast charging with the USB-C connector.
The battery capacity is reduced compared to the previous 4100mAh Redmi Note 4, but it is a choice that has made it possible to bring the thickness of the device just 7.5 mm (8.4 mm for the previous model).
The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 notes will be available in three variants, different in RAM and storage capacity: it starts from with 3GB / 32GB configuration and you get to the one with 4GB / 64GB. Check out Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 price below:
