Soon after launching the Xiaomi Redmi 3S smartphone, Xiaomi on Today unveiled a new Redmi 3 model, dubbed the Xiaomi Redmi 3X, with 4G LTE connectivity but exclusively for China Unicom network. Priced at 899 Yuan – approximately $136 USD, the smartphone is now available exclusively via mi.com in China.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3X is share same features and hardware specs as a company’s Redmi 3S smartphone. The biggest differences we found in that only works on China Telecom, apart from this there are differences in handset’s dimensions and weighs, Redmi 3X measures 139.7 x 69.7 x 8.5 mm, while the Redmi 3S comes with 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5mm; and Redmi 3S weigh 144 grams whereas Redmi 3X weighs 146 grams.
Much like the Redmi 3S, the Redmi 3X sports a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and LED flash; and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back panel. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) 64-bit octa-core processor clubbed with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and a 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB, whereas the Redmi 3S is available in two variants such as 2GB RAM/16GB ROM and 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Xiaomi Redmi 3X also features 5.0-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display. The dual-SIM 4G LTE smartphone runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based on MIUI 7 out of the box. Backed by a same 4100mAh battery, the handset offers up to 33 hours of talk-time and up to 450 hours of standby time. Connectivity options of the Redmi 3X includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack options.
