Sony has launched two new E-mount lenses, Full Frame compatible sensors, including FE 50mm f/1.8 prime lens and FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS telephoto zoom lens. With FE 50mm f/1.8 lens, Sony answers to users with a limited budget, and provide improved products for FE mount lineup.
Meanwhile, FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS lens is the newest representative, the telephoto zoom lens with a focal length of the Sony G lens line, it’s also lightweight and compact for flexible shooting.
Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 Lens:
With its very small size (69x60mm) and with lightweight only 186gram, new FE 50mm f/1.8 lens is a good choice for photographers, filmmakers looking for a good balance between the new optical design with an aspherical element, weight and price.
The optical design incorporates one aspherical element to control spherical aberrations, an employs a double-gauss configuration in order to realize sharper, clearer image quality throughout the aperture range with reduced field curvature. The lens has a large aperture range f/1.8 to f/22, rounded 7-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh effect. Minimum focusing distance of the lens is 0.45 m, at a certain level can still be used to shoot Close-up.
The FE 50mm f/1.8 lens has been priced at $248, also listed on BHPhoto store and will be available for purchase on 31st March 2016.

FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Lens:
This is a telephoto zoom lens with Sony’s longest reaching E-mount lens at the present and is the newest member of the Sony G Lens line. This lens with new parameters and optical technologies such as optical design incorporates four aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion glass elements to control spherical and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range for increased sharpness and color accuracy.
Additionally, Nano AR Coating of Sony to decrease lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.
This new lens also has the ability to capture or Macro Close-up thanks to minimum focus distance of just 0.9m and 0.31x magnification. Obviously with up to 300mm focal length, Optical SteadyShot image stabilization that minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper imagery when shooting handheld with slower shutter speeds.
Sony also equipped with a Linear Autofocus Motor that helps focus faster and smoother. The entire lens body is also designed to be dust- and moisture resistant for use in harsh environments. This versatile zoom lens weighs only 854 gram, is a good choice for all needs such as stills and videos.
The FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS lens has been priced at $1198, and listed on BHPhoto store and will be available for purchase on 31st March 2016.
