OnePlus 5 and 5T are among the most popular smartphones globally, combining powerful performance with customizable Oxygen OS. Now, its successor – the OnePlus 6 – seems on its way. OnePlus has sent out invites for the launch of a new smartphone on May 17 in China.
OnePlus’s official China website has announced the launch of the new OnePlus 6 phone in China on May 17 at 10 am CST in Beijing, China. The event will be open to the public and fans need to pay a fee of CNY 99 to attend the launch.
Interestingly, OnePlus’s exclusive partner Amazon India also confirming the OnePlus 6 India launch will be “soon,” and putting up a dedicated web page for the handset on Amazon.in; also the OnePlus 5T has gone out of stock in India ahead of the unveiling.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau mentioned that the device would feature a glass finish on the back. With this new many OnePlus fans were thrilled, seeing it would be the first time that a OnePlus model would have this type of finish – which is already adopted by several other brands.
We also have a new image published in Weibo’s OnePlus official account, reiterating that the company’s next flagship will have a glass back finish.
At the end coming to the OnePlus 6 specifications, it will get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB native storage. Apart from that, the handset will sport a display notch – to incorporate the front camera and other sensors, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a glass back design. It will feature a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
