Meizu launched its much awaited smartphones Meizu X and Pro 6 Plus at the event in China. The Meizu X price in China is set to CNY 1,699 – approximately $246 for 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM; and CNY 1,999 – approximately $290 for 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, while the Meizu Pro 6 Plus price in China for 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM is CNY 2,999 – approximately $435, and CNY 3,299 – approximately $480 for 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM. Both the handsets will go on sale first on December 8 in China.
The company also upgrades its Meizu Flyme OS to Flyme 6 OS which uses new color schemes and has 200 new animations. Meizu will soon rolling out the Flyme 6 on following devices: Meizu Pro 6S, Pro 6, Pro 5, MX6, MX5, MX4 Pro, MX4, U20, U10, M5, M3, M3 Max, M3E, M3S, M3 Note, M2, and M1 Note.
The Meizu X features a 5.5-inch In-Cell display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution that can convey a pixel density of 403ppi and 2.5D glass layer on top of it. It is powered by a new 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core 16nm FinFET processor clubbed with Mali T800 GPU and 3GB / 4GB of RAM. The smartphones have inbuilt storage of 32GB / 64GB, which is expandable via microSD card.
In terms of optics, it packs a 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 6P lens and dual tone LED flash. It has a 5-megapixel front camera. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor which embedded in Home button and unlock the device in 0.2s and also supports payment platforms like Alipay and WeChat Pay.
The smartphone houses a 3200mAh battery with mCharge which can charge the device up to 40% in just 30 minutes. In terms of connectivity, the options for the smartphones include 4G LTE with dual SIM functionality.
Coming to the flagship Meizu Pro 6 Plus comes with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2K (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution along with 3D Press, 103% NTSC color gamut, 600 nits brightness, and contrast ratio of 10000:1. It is powered by a 2.3 / 2.0 GHz octa-core Exynos 8890 SoC coupled with Mali-T880 MP10 GPU. It has 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and comes with inbuilt storage of 64GB / 128GB, which is expandable via microSD card.
In terms of optics, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus packs a 12-megapixel rear autofocus camera with dual-tone 10-LED Ring Flash, Laser Auto focus, 4-axis OIS, PDAF, 6P lenses, f/2.0 aperture, 1.25μm size, and also able to record 4K video at 30fps. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. It also comes with a mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor built into the home button that unlock the device in just 0.15 seconds and also heart rate detection built into it.
It packs a 3400mAh battery with mCharge 3.0 24W fast charging that lets you charge the phone up to 60% in 30 minutes. It also features Hi-Fi custom ADI ad45275 op amplifier and upgraded SoLo amp circuit (2nd gen) along with ESS ES9018K2M audio chip to provide you a high quality sound. For connectivity options of the smartphone includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz), GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 3.1 Type-C, and NFC.
