LG confirmed that the G6 would start receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update at the end of April and fulfilled its promise when the smartphone received the update in South Korea. According to what has been revealed, users who own LG G6 connected to Verizon carrier can now download Android 8.0 Oreo. The update weighs approximately 1.9 GB and brings a lot of new features to the smartphone, including the April security package, which makes your device more secure.

Among other things, this update also takes the LG G6 into a picture-in-picture mode that allows users to use other applications while watching a YouTube video. The notification center also appears to have received changes that made it more intuitive and clean for users.

The highlight feature on this new LG flagship smartphone is its 5.7-inch FullVision display with QHD+ (1440×2880 pixels) resolution with an 18:9 (or 2:1) aspect ratio instead of the industry standard (16:9). It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB).
