Hasselblad X1D-50C: First Medium Format Mirrorless Camera Price and Availability

Hasselblad has officially announced a world’s first Medium Format Mirrorless Digital Camera – X1D-50C. This is a world’s first mirrorless digital camera in medium format to use large-sized sensor with a resolution up to 50MP. Hasselblad called it “The game changer” because it overcomes the disadvantages of the previous systems such as Medium Format and not suitable for shooting in harsh environments.

Regarding design, which Hasselblad can boast of X1D-50C is too small and light-weight. It measures 150 x 98 x 71 mm, smaller than universal DSLR; and weighs 725g (battery attached), approx similar to Nikon D750. The entire body of X1D-50C is weather and dust resistant, so it is ready to use in outside field; not only works in Studio as usual before. The X1D body is made in Sweden by Hasselblad while lenses made in Japan by Nittoh.

The Hasselblad X1D-50C is equipped with a Medium Format 44 x 33mm CMOS sensor, 50MP resolution. Of course, this is capable of capturing an extremely wide dynamic range of up to 14 stops along with 16-bit color depth. You can capture (8272 x 6200 pixels) resolution stills, 4:3 and Full-HD 1080p video recording at 30fps. Rather wide ISO range of camera, from 100-25600.
