The new Ninja 2023 model boasts the capability to handle video sources up to 6K30 and Ultra model at up to 8K30 with a 5-inch HDR screen, it records ProRes RAW and maintains compatibility with nearly all cameras worldwide.

An integral aspect of both the new Ninja 2023 models is the revamped operating system, AtomOS 11, which introduces fresh features including the EL Zone exposure-referenced colorized image, ARRI False Color, and innovative scheduled playback and recording tools.

Both models showcase a polycarbonate body in a distinct camo color, now encompassing more codecs as standard options, such as 6K ProRes RAW, ProRes, DNxHD, and H.265, which was previously offered as a paid add-on.

While the Ninja 2023 base model primarily targets DSLR and mirrorless camera owners, the Ultra 2023 delves into cinematic workflows with the inclusion of Atomos Connect. This feature enables the recording of full-quality ProRes RAW files at resolutions up to 4K 60p, simultaneous with HD 60p recordings in H.265 format. Ultra model also supports automatic filename and timecode matching, offering compatibility with ARRI, Canon, and RED cameras, with additional camera support in the pipeline.

Ninja Ultra introduces a novel 4K camera-to-cloud mode, facilitating the recording and uploading of higher-quality bitrate H.265 video at increased framerates. The compact size of H.265 files makes them ideal for camera-to-cloud workflows, yet still suitable for immediate utilization in areas like social media, sports reporting, or news coverage. H.265 files are half the size of H.264 media files.

The addition of an Atomos Connect expansion module to either the Ninja or Ultra brings forth Atomos RemoteView technology. This innovation allows users to wirelessly share live views from the Atomos screen with other Atomos monitors, iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs. Furthermore, for Ninja Ultra, the Atomos Connect module provides lower latency, higher throughput, and a more stable connection utilizing Wi-Fi 6E.

Both Ninja 2023 models maintain backward compatibility with their predecessors, the Ninja V and Ninja V+, ensuring seamless integration with all Atomos and third-party accessories.
