The latest LG Signature OLED M Smart TV eliminates the need for all cables except the power cable. Instead, LG consolidates all connections into a separate box, which establishes a wireless connection to the TV and is capable of streaming 4K HDR content at 120 frames per second with minimal latency.
The LG Signature OLED M series currently features primarily two OLED televisions: the roll-out OLED R and the Signature OLED 8K. Unlike the rest of LG’s OLED portfolio, the Signature OLED 8K offers a full 8K resolution. Now, LG is expanding this lineup with the Signature OLED Smart TV M3, which LG claims to be the world’s first wireless OLED TV.
Rather than incorporating the connections on the TV’s rear or using a wired box like Samsung, LG includes a “Zero Connect Box” that accommodates all ports, including HDMI 2.1, USB, and Ethernet. Devices like game consoles such as the Xbox Series X or the Sony PlayStation 5, as well as set-top boxes, can be linked to the Zero Connect Box. This box then wirelessly transmits content, delivering a maximum of 4K resolution at 120 frames per second to the TV.
The built-in antenna reportedly achieves triple the bandwidth compared to Wi-Fi 6E, enabling wireless streaming of Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. The gallery design facilitates flush wall-mounting of the Smart TV, while the Zero Connect Box can be positioned up to a maximum distance of 10 meters from the TV.
LG Signature OLED M Series price and release date
The LG Signature OLED M Series is available in three screen sizes: 77 inches, 83 inches, and 97 inches. On Bhphotovideo.com, the LG OLED M 97-inch 4K Ultra Smart TV model is available for pre-order at $29,996.99, the 83-inch model is priced at $7,996.99, and the 77-inch model can be purchased for $4,996.99. It will be released on September 4, 2023.
