Motorola has unveiled the new Moto G Power 5G 2024, giving the mid-range smartphone several upgrades compared to its predecessor, from the more modern MediaTek Dimensity 7020 to the new ultra-wide-angle camera and the wireless charging option.
The Motorola Moto G Power 5G receives some significant upgrades in the 2024 version, led by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020, a 6 nm ARM chip with two Cortex-A78 performance cores at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz, which replaces the Dimensity 930 in the previous model. The new model’s 5,000 mAh battery supports up to 15W wireless and 30W USB-C charging.
Motorola is once again installing a 50-megapixel f/1.8 main camera, which has now been accompanied by an 8 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera – this time Motorola has dispensed with the two useless 2 MP sensors of the previous model. There is also a 16 MP f/2.4 selfie camera, 128 GB of flash memory, 8 GB of RAM, and a 6.7-inch, 120 Hz fast IPS panel that achieves a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels.
The back of the 201-gram smartphone is water-repellent, but the casing is not waterproof. The Moto G Power 5G has a microSD card reader, support for Dolby Atmos, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The smartphone comes with Android 14 and employs a minimally adapted MyUX skin, as customary with Motorola.
