Venus Optics recently initiated a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo for their innovative Laowa Nanomorph Zoom kit. Following a successful campaign, this product is now ready for pre-order exclusively at B&H Photo. It is a line of Arri anamorphic ultra-wide zoom lenses for cameras with Super35 matrices: Laowa Nanomorph Zoom 28-55mm T2.9 1.5x and 50-100mm T2.9 1.5x.

The manufacturing company calls this line the world’s most affordable anamorphic video optics with zoom capabilities. Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph lenses are 1.5 kg in weight, have a PL mount, and a constant T2.9 aperture. They provide a 3.6x zoom and 1.5x or 2x compression with the Laowa 1.33x adapter.

Venus Optics claims that it provides low levels of distortion and chromatic aberration. They can feature amber, blue, or silver highlights, indicated by a ring on the lens body of the same color.

The Laowa Nanomorph 50-100mm T2.9 1.5x S35 Anamorphic Zoom by Venus Optics is a compact lens, measuring 7.3 inches in length and weighing approximately 3.3 pounds. Its design covers Super 35 sensors, making it perfect for use with car rigs, stabilizers, and shoulder rigs.

Pairing it with the optional 28-55mm zoom lens gives filmmakers a 28-100mm range and nearly 3.6x zoom ratio. Key features of the zoom lens include amber flares, dual focus marks in feet and meters, 0.8 MOD cine-standard gears on the focus, iris, and zoom rings, as well as a 77mm front thread for filters.

The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 28-55mm and 50-100mm T2.9 1.5x S35 Anamorphic Zoom lenses, priced at $2,999 each, are now available for pre-order on Bhphotovideo.com. A bundle with both lenses is also available for $5,799.
