DzoFilm Vespid 12mm T2.8 Prime cine lens announced

The DzoFilm Vespid 12mm T2.8 VV prime cine lens has been designed to cater to cine cameras sporting PL or EF mounts, and it’s capable of covering the image circle up to Vista Vision – 46.5 mm. This lens, weighing in at 725 grams, offers a wide viewing angle.

Measuring 72 mm in length, the new lens features a 77 mm thread for attaching front filters. The minimum focusing distance for the DzoFilm Vespid 12mm T2.8 VV lens is an impressive 0.2 meters.

In June, DzOFilm unveiled the DzoFilm Vespid 12mm T2.8 VV ultra-wide-angle cine lens at the Cine Gear Expo in Los Angeles. Now, they’ve officially announced a lens that complements the DzoFilm Vespid line.

This new cine lens boasts an optical design comprising 15 elements organized into 10 groups, including two aspherical lenses. With a minimum focusing distance of 20 cm (measured from the sensor plane), this lens offers flexibility. The diaphragm, featuring 10 blades, can be adjusted within the range of T2.8 to T22.

The aperture ring provides a comfortable 75° focus throw, while the focus ring aligns with the rest of the Vespid line, offering a 270° rotation (except the 90mm macro lens, which has a 300° focus throw).

These DzoFilm Vespid cinema lenses share consistent parameters in terms of resolution, focusing, and appearance. The placement of the focus and aperture rings remains uniform, ensuring ease of lens swapping.
