Asus ExpertCenter PN42 Mini PC with infrared receiver and configurable port

Asus has officially unveiled its latest addition to the mini-PC lineup, the ExpertCenter PN42, providing detailed information following the initial announcement at CES 2023. This compact powerhouse offers customers a choice between two cutting-edge Intel processors, namely the Intel N100 and Intel N200. While these processors were just introduced this year, they may not be ideal for highly demanding tasks. The Asus PN42 mini-PC supports up to 16 gigabytes of RAM and boasts a fanless cooling system.

Measuring just 127.5 x 132 x 57.6 millimeters and weighing approximately one kilogram, the Asus PN42 packs an impressive range of features. It provides HDMI and DisplayPort 1.4 outputs for displaying content, and an additional configurable port is also available. The port supports display outputs, enabling the simultaneous operation of up to three high-resolution displays.

Connectivity options for the mini-PC include WiFi 6 or WiFi 6E, depending on the chosen model version, ensuring fast and reliable network connections. Bluetooth is always available for seamless device pairing. Network connectivity can also be established through the Ethernet port, offering speeds of up to 2.5 GBit/s. An optional second Ethernet port is available, providing additional flexibility. While the mini PC supports easy installation of an M.2 SSD, there is no space for a 2.5-inch drive.

In terms of connectivity, the ExpertCenter PN42 features four USB 3.2 ports, with two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports conveniently located on the front panel. Audio connections and an infrared receiver can also be found on the front, along with an RGB-illuminated power button. Additionally, USB 2.0 ports are available for further peripheral connectivity.
