Samsung presents its first flat mini LED 144Hz 4K 1ms gaming monitor Odyssey Neo G7 for gamers. The 43-inch Samsung Neo G7 has a 4K resolution, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and a response time of 1 ms. Other features include AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and the Smart Hub from Samsung.
Samsung introduced its new 4K 144Hz monitor at CES 2023, which is listed online. The new Samsung 43 inch gaming monitor with model number S43CG70 is the manufacturer’s first flat mini-LED model.
144Hz 4K 1ms gaming monitor
The non-curved screen of the new Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 measures 43 inches and has a resolution of 4K (3,820 x 2,160 pixels). On the back, the panel is illuminated by Quantum Mini LEDs, which Samsung markets under the name Quantum Matrix Technology.
Among other things, the tiny mini-LEDs enable a particularly high-contrast image, although the manufacturer has not yet provided any information about the number of dimming zones in its announcement. The static contrast ratio is specified as 4,250:1, and the dynamic as 1,000,000:1.
The peak brightness of the Samsung Neo G7 43″ should be around 600 cd/m² since the manufacturer advertises a VESA Display HDR 600 certification. The typical brightness is given as 400 cd/m². Among other things, the manufacturer mentions 95 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
The data that is primarily relevant for gamers is a 144 Hz refresh rate and an MPRT response time of 1 ms.
AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Smart Hub
Among other things, Samsung names AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, HDR10+ Gaming, and its Game Bar with relevant setting options.
In addition to the Samsung Gaming Hub, the Samsung Smart Hub is also on board. The 144Hz 4K 1ms gaming monitor with the Tizen operating system can also be used for streaming via numerous apps like a classic smart TV. A remote control is included.
Two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4, and two USB 3.0 connections are available. There are also LAN, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2. Two loudspeakers, each with 20 watts, are installed for the audio output.
