Overview

The Acer Iconia 10 B3-A30 tablet comes in a miniature box decorated in bright colors. Inside the box we have the charger with USB-cable, user manual and as a nice bonus – the firm stand with futuristic look in the style of Acer’s high-end products with the logo of Predator.

The tripod style accessory that comes with several legs allow you to set the tablet at different angles as you like, which is a quite thoughtful idea from the Acer to bundle with a plastic stand that will help the user to experience the Iconia 10 for a long time.

The Acer B3 A30 tablet is available in two colors – black and white. On the test we got the white color variant. Design of the tablet is adapted especially for comfortable use in a landscape mode, in fact, its also works perfect in portrait mode as well. 1

Front panel that protected with glass and stereo speaker grilles placed on the both upper and bottom layer. On the center of the upper frame of the screen is the front camera lens.

Volume control and the power buttons are located on the upper side, and at the top of left side, we have the micro-USB port and 3.5 mm audio jack.

The back cover of the tablet is made of matte plastic with embossed surface. The rear camera has a massive frame design with a mirror surface, and this is done on purpose. The fact that the decorative element carries a second surprise – at the upper half of the frame is hidden slot for microSDXC cards.

All elements are made of plastic, which is not surprising for a budget device. The plastic quality has made a good impression, but the overall look was not entirely perfect.

Acer Iconia 10 B3-A30 tablet is obtain a relatively compact and lightweight design, it weighs 520 grams, while the body thickness is 9.2 millimeters. 3

At this weight to hold a Acer Iconia 10.1 inch tablet for a long time is possible, but after few hours hands are tired. Practice has shown that this Acer tablet is more convenient to use, putting it on your lap or on a table. To watch the movies or video in the presence of stand it will become more convenient.

Display

Acer Iconia One 10 B3-A30 for the affordable tablet line up with a quite large 10.1-inch IPS LCD screen with the HD (1280 X 800 pixels) resolution that carry a pixel density of 160ppi.

Nevertheless, the screen made a good impression, because it has natural colors, good viewing angles and flicker-free light. The screen brightness is quite low, for outdoor tasks this product has not been good. Acer Iconia One 10 Review

Next, the pixel density is also low that you can easily see the pixels on the screen at normal reading distance. But comes with MediaTek MiraVision imaging technology, which improves image quality and provides better user experience. Actually, we would not be asking too much for a tablet for the low price segment.

Moreover, the system is well implemented the ability to separately adjust the font size and scale interface by adjusting everything to fit your needs.

Interface

Acer Iconia 10 B3-A30 works on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with a proprietary launcher and the set of pre-installed applications.

All the basic functionality of the system is the same as in the regular Android, but there are some deviations from the original.

For example, it’s possible to lock the tablet, running multiple applications simultaneously, touch five fingers at the same time to lock the screen and you can also unlock it via touching two thumbs in the corners – it’s very convenient. Acer Iconia 10 B3-A30

For those who do not gestures or other additional commands, in the settings they will enable a simple unlocking with a double-tap.

In addition, the Acer Iconia One 10.1 tablet also supports pinch gesture (with three fingers) to capture screen shots. A set of pre-installed applications is quite diverse. It includes the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), Skype, Opera Max, and user-friendly cloud sync utility.
Performance

The Acer Iconia 10 B3-A30 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8163 chipset, clocked at 1.3 GHz. 1GB of RAM, and 16GB built-in storage, but can expand it via microSDHC memory card of up to 128 GB.

As you can see, the specifications of the tablet are not much higher, so to hope high-end performance from this budget tablet-not worth it.

If you do not run multiple applications at the same time, everything works relatively quickly. At least in the general social networking apps like Facebook, and YouTube works smoothly. 6

HD video playback is quite responsive, by the way treats with built-in speakers. Besides the fact that they are stereo speakers and conveniently located in front so the sound quality is quite acceptable for this class of device.

Of course, the Acer Iconia One 10 32GB Tablet is not for gaming, but at lower settings you can enjoy few games too. I think this product is very suitable for users who need a big screen device to read newspapers, watching movies and entertainment.

Camera

It is difficult to imagine that anyone would seriously take pictures by holding a 10-inch device, but this tablet allows you to do this.

Camera interface as simple as possible, there are only most basic settings are available such as panorama mode, face beauty, HDR, exposure control and ISO. In the settings it is possible to adjust the white balance, contrast, brightness and saturation manually, and apply filters. Acer Iconia One 10 B3-A30

The rear camera comes with autofocus, it can focus at close range and capture small objects with blurred background. It can also shoot video with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels with a refresh rate of 30 frames per second. In reality, of course, the video quality is more like Full HD. While the front camera of 2-megapixel has lacks of autofocus.

At the maximum brightness of the display the tablet plays video continuously for seven and a half hours. 2

After playing one hour of Asphalt Extreme with an average screen brightness the battery level discharged up to 16%, and it can take two and a half hours to full charge.

Connect to a wireless network device supports Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n, and Bluetooth 4.0 is also available there and internet on this tablet running fast.

Final line

Acer Iconia One 10 B3-A30 – a very simple device for users who need an inexpensive and functional device with a large screen. The device is suitable for watching videos, reading books or PDF files, social networking, and not too heavy to surf the Web. 9
