Sigma Corporation has officially announced the release of Nikon Z mount versions of its lenses. We have three Sigma lens lists: Sigma 16 mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary, Sigma 30 mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary, and Sigma 56 mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary.
These will be available for APS-C cameras of the Nikon Z system, which will expand the currently limited series of Nikon Z lenses. And this is undoubtedly good news – owners of Nikon Z cameras will be able to use excellent optics from Sigma.
As a reminder, these lenses are already available in five mounts: Sony E, Canon EF-M, Fujifilm X, Micro Fours Thirds, and L-mount.
Coming from the official press release: the control algorithm including AF drive and communication speed optimization has been developed specifically for Z Mount interchangeable lenses. In addition to realizing high-speed AF, the lens also supports AF-C (Continuous AF) and in-camera aberration correction. The mount is rubber-sealed to cater for use in a variety of environments.
