Introducing The Freestyle Gen 2, a projector designed to display a 100-inch diagonal image on the screen and operable with a detachable battery. Samsung’s gaming hub introduces a groundbreaking capability to play cloud games directly through a Bluetooth controller, marking a pioneering step in the realm of projectors.

Over a year and a half has elapsed since Samsung launched The Freestyle Projector (Hands-On). Now, its direct successor, The Freestyle Gen 2, is making its debut. Fundamental specifications remain unchanged, as the projector retains its ability to project images ranging from 30 inches to 100 inches diagonally onto the screen.

Based on the desired diagonal size, the projector’s positioning should range from 0.9 to 3 meters away from the screen. The Freestyle Gen 2 maintains its image projection resolution at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, while brightness lingers at a modest 230 ANSI lumens, accompanied by a fan volume of 30 dB.

The new Samsung Freestyle projector boasts a contrast ratio of 100,000:1. The LED lamp’s operational lifespan has been extended from 20,000 to 30,000 hours. Additionally, the innovation of aligning two Gen 2 projectors side by side to produce an ultra-wide 32:9 image with seamlessly matched edges has been integrated.

Retaining its 360-degree speakers from its predecessor, the projector also embraces user-friendly features like autofocus and automatic keystone correction. A novel inclusion is the optional battery stand, although Samsung has yet to disclose information regarding the battery’s duration.

The second significant enhancement is the introduction of an integrated gaming hub. This hub empowers users to connect a Bluetooth controller to the projector and indulge in gaming directly through Xbox Cloud Gaming, Nvidia GeForce Now, or Amazon Luna. The extensive availability of streaming apps is also facilitated by Tizen.
