Honor officially presented the Magic6 Pro, which serves as the successor to the Honor Magic5 Pro, at MWC 2024. While it maintains a similar design to its predecessor, the Magic6 Pro repositions the pill-shaped punch hole to the middle, taking inspiration from the Dynamic Island featured in the Apple iPhone 15 Pro. Honor calls this punch-hole design the “Magic Capsule” and highlights its functionality, similar to that of the Dynamic Island.

The front glass, named “NanoCrystal Shield,” offers exceptional durability against falls compared to competing products. The display now has slightly narrower edges, and the camera module features a more noticeable bezel. Honor has left no stone unturned when it comes to features. The IP68-certified and waterproof housing houses the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, supported by up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash memory.

Display

The device features a 6.8-inch, 120 Hz fast LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,280 pixels and an impressive HDR peak brightness of 5,000 nits. However, according to DxOMark’s analysis, the overall area can reach a maximum of 1,492 nits, meaning that competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra may offer brighter practical performance. To avoid visible flickering, the display operates at a PWM frequency of 4,320 Hz.

Camera

The standout feature of the Magic6 Pro is its triple camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/2.0. Additionally, there is a 50 MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 180 MP f/2.6 periscope telephoto camera, equipped with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.5x optical zoom. The device also features a 50 MP f/2.0 selfie camera accompanied by a depth sensor for improved bokeh simulation and 3D facial recognition.

Users can record videos in 4K at 60 fps, with an AI algorithm predicting movements and enhancing autofocus speed. Honor is also working on integrating Meta’s LlaMa AI model. You can charge the 5,600 mAh battery using either USB-C with up to 80 watts or wirelessly with 66 watts. The device comes with MagicOS 8.0, based on Android 14, and supports USB-C 3.1 (5 Gbit/s) and Wi-Fi 7.
