Intel NUC 13 Extreme Raptor Canyon Barebone PC tower with Core i9-13900K and 450W GPU

Intel unveiled its most powerful NUC barebone PC yet. While the NUC 13 Extreme Raptor Canyon gaming PC tower is larger than any previous NUC, it’s still compact compared to traditional gaming desktops without compromising on performance.

Intel NUC 13 Extreme Barebone PC tower

The NUC 13 Extreme Raptor Canyon has been officially launched. The gaming PC tower is still marketed by Intel as a “mini PC”, but with dimensions of 31.8 x 33.7 x 12.9 centimeters and a volume of 13.7 liters, the tower is larger than all previous NUC models. Intel uses this space to boost performance.

Because the NUC 13 Extreme is optionally available with an Intel Core i5-13600K, a Core i7-13700K, or even with a Core i9-13900K with eight performance and 16 efficiency cores, the socketed desktop – CPUs can be upgraded after purchase.

In addition, PCIe 5.0 x16 graphics cards are supported, which are a maximum of three slots wide and 31.3 centimeters long – that’s enough for most GPUs on the market, theoretically even for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090. The NUC provides the graphics card with 450 watts of energy, optionally in the form of the new 12VHPWR connector, or with three 6+2-pin connectors.

Intel installs a modular 750-watt 80+ Gold SFX power supply. In addition, the tower offers space for five M.2 SSDs, all of which are connected via PCIe 4.0. The NUC 13 Extreme supports up to 64 GB DDR5 memory through two SO-DIMMs. In addition to Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet, there is also HDMI 2.1, two Thunderbolt 4, eight USB-A, and an additional USB-C connector on the front.

Intel NUC 13 Extreme release date and price

The Intel NUC 13 Extreme Raptor Canyon pricing starts from $1,338 and is already available to pre-order on the Bhphotovideo.com store. It will be available in China in the fourth quarter of 2022, with the rest of the world launching in the first quarter of 2023.

Dell recently also made available the Alienware AW3423DW QD OLED, the world’s first gaming monitor with a QD-OLED display is now listed on Amazon, which gives a good impression of the design and picture quality.
