Cycling and running are usually weather-dependent activities, often migrating indoors during winter for safety reasons in adverse conditions. Garmin introduces the Tacx NEO 3M as a smart indoor trainer, specially designed for cyclists.

Different from conventional trainers, the Tacx NEO 3M is powered by the bicycle chain, not merely the tire. Equipped with a pre-installed Shimano and SRAM 11-speed cassette, it offers adaptability with additional cassette options. Its touted multi-directional mobility aims to provide a realistic riding feel, even when standing while pedaling, offering an option to deactivate this feature. The virtual Tacx flywheel facilitates the simulation of varied terrains.

It’s capable of simulating inclines of up to 25 percent and handles sprints with a whopping 2,200 watts—though this figure is rarely achieved in practical use. Featuring 32 integrated neodymium magnets, it boasts a maximum torque of 88 Nm and a formidable maximum braking force of 260 N. The roller trainer ensures precise performance, speed, and cadence measurements.

Compatibility with popular training apps like Tacx Training, TrainerRoad, and Zwift, provides access to diverse training programs. Supporting Bluetooth and ANT+ connections, it seamlessly integrates with Garmin Connect. Remarkably, the trainer can operate without a power supply, adjusting resistance based on speed.
