Garmin updates Dash Cams Family with Voice control and video recording to Cloud

Garmin has expanded its Dash Cam family with a host of new models – Dash Cam Mini 2, Dash Cam 47, Dash Cam 57, and Dash Cam 67W. The key feature of the new Garmin Dash Cams is support for voice control, as well as the ability to record video to cloud storage.

Thanks to their compact dimensions (5.62 x 4.05 x 2.14 cm for the full-size models and 3.1 x 5.3 x 2.9 cm for the Dash Cam Mini 2), the Garmin DashCam models are almost invisible when installed behind the rearview mirror and do not restrict the driver’s view.

Car video recording is carried out using proprietary Garmin Clarity HDR optics, which allows you to capture a detailed image at any time of the day. Supported resolutions are 1080p or 1440p. The lens has a 140-degree field of view, while the flagship model Dash Cam 67W is equipped with an ultra-wide-angle lens with a 180-degree field of view. The presented DashCams are equipped with 2-inch LCDs.

All captured videos are automatically saved in secure online storage for 24 hours, with the ability to store up to 30 days with a paid subscription. You can view and share videos using the Garmin Drive app on your smartphone. Also, using the application, you can remotely access the camera using the Live View function, for monitoring from anywhere in the world. And the function of car security in the parking lot will provide automatic monitoring of the situation around the parked car in real-time and will send a notification to the smartphone in case of accidents.

All new Garmin Dash Cams support voice control in six languages, which allows you to use commands to save video, start or stop audio recording, take photos, etc.

Garmin Dash Cam 47, Dash Cam 57, and Dash Cam 67W come with preinstalled memory cards, so you are ready to go right out of the box. Dash Mini Dash Cam 2 requires a separate microSD card with at least 8GB. A car charger with two USB ports is provided with the devices, which will allow you to charge other devices in parallel.

Price and availability

The cost of the new Garmin Dash Cams family ranges from $129.99 to $259.99 and it can be purchased via the Amazon.com and Bestbuy.com online retailers.

Earlier this year, Garmin has launched its first dual-lens Dash Cam named Garmin Dash Cam Tandem with a 180-degree field of view, its design allows to record everything that happens not only in front of the camera but interior-footage too, and is priced at $299.99.
