Dave Limp, the Senior Vice President of Amazon Devices and Services, introduced the Echo Show 8 Gen 3 (2023) during the Amazon 2023 Devices and Services event. Echo Show 8 new version comes with a fresh design, a camera now centered, improved audio quality, and a faster processor. What’s more, it now includes a built-in smart home hub.

Amazon has unveiled the Echo Show 8 Gen 3, featuring an updated design and enhanced hardware. This new iteration of the Echo Show 8 boasts a sleek, redesigned appearance and improved hardware. One noticeable change in the 8 Series is the center placement of the camera for video calls, along with an upgraded audio system aimed at reducing background noise.

The new Echo Show 8 also benefits from an upgraded processor for faster display interactions and includes a built-in smart home hub. As a smart speaker, the 2023 Echo Show 8 now incorporates Amazon’s spatial audio processing technology, promising a more immersive and expansive sound experience.

Furthermore, the Echo Show 8 Gen 3 introduces surround sound adjustment technology, capable of detecting room acoustics and optimizing audio playback for the best sound quality.

A particularly interesting feature of the Echo Show 8 is its adaptability to user interactions. The home screen content dynamically changes based on the user’s proximity to the device. When farther away, the display shows essential information, such as simplified headlines or a large clock. As the user approaches, the content seamlessly transitions to a more detailed and touch-friendly interface.

Pre-orders for the Echo Show 8 3rd generation are already available on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, priced at $149.99 and £149.99, respectively. Shipments are scheduled to commence on October 25, 2023.
