Dell UltraSharp U2424H 24-inch office monitor with 120 Hz

The 2021 Dell UltraSharp U2422H business monitor seems poised to pass the torch to its successor soon. The U2424H, presently listed on B&H Photo, maintains a 23.8-inch IPS panel with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) but now boasts a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, doubling its predecessor’s capability of 60 Hz.

Curious about the need for more than 60 Hz outside of gaming? If so, you’ve likely not experienced the markedly smoother mouse operation achievable at higher refresh rates during regular desktop and application use. For similar reasons, many manufacturers are increasingly opting for at least 100 Hz in devices primarily intended for office use. Incorporating Adaptive Sync—though not present in this Dell iteration—would ensure tear-free and seamless gaming interludes.

Reportedly, the new Dell U2424H also boasts a 5 ms response time (gray to gray), 250 cd/m² brightness, 8-bit color depth, 100 percent sRGB coverage, 100 percent Rec. 709, 85 percent DCI-P3, and a Delta-E value of less than 2.

Connectivity options are once again diverse, featuring HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.4 (input and output), RJ-45, a USB 3.2 hub, a headphone output, USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode, and 90-watt PD. It offers docking station capabilities along with daisy chaining.

The Dell UltraSharp U2424H is adjustable in rotation, tilt, height, and pivot, includes a blue light filter, assuredly sports a flicker-free backlight, and comes equipped with a sensor for display luminance adjustment based on ambient brightness.
