Angelbird launches Record-breaking 4TB CFexpress Card

Austrian company Angelbird has set a new record for CFexpress Type B memory cards: the AV Pro Mark II Type-B CF express card promises peak data transfer speeds of up to 1785 MB/s with a massive capacity of 4TB.

The developer claims that its CF express card not only boasts a large capacity, 1785MB/s read and 1550MB/s write speeds, but can support 1300MB/s to ensure stable writes during long recording periods. These speeds are enough to support RAW video and 4K, 6K, 8K, and even 12K resolutions.

The company claims to be able to maintain this high-performance thanks to a technology it calls Stable Stream. Angelbird also states that the AV Pro CFexpress Mark II Type-B uses its own super processor designed specifically for RAW photo and video content creation, which is thermally protected and also runs on lower power consumption.

Angelbird offers a data recovery service and covers any card that has encountered physical or software issues such as data or file corruption. The company will even sign a non-disclosure agreement in case the map contains sensitive footage. The service is provided free of charge for three years after the purchase of a new card.

Price and availability

Angelbird’s AV Pro Mark II CFexpress Type B card looks impressive, but those features come at a high price. The 4TB card is currently available for pre-order through the Bhphotovideo.com website for $1,799. There are also various storage options available including 1TB, 330GB, 660GB, and 1320GB.

Last week, Lexar announced the launch of its new 800x (Blue Label) SDXC memory card series, designed to deliver “high-speed performance for capturing everyday experiences.” This new Lexar SDXC card belongs to the mid-range segment and meets the needs of most users, but does not shine with top performance. The price for the 128GB variant is $22.99 and $47.99 for the 256GB model. The micro SDXC card is also available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage options on the Bhphotovideo store.
