TerraMaster: Two NAS storage solutions with up to 12 slots, NVMe, fiber optics, and a maximum of 20 GBit/s

TerraMaster has unveiled two best NAS storage solutions, which are mainly geared toward professional users. Both of these network storage solutions are for small businesses and are equipped with Intel processors.

The TerraMaster T9-450 and T12-450 are the two best NAS storage solutions offered by the company. They differ in the number of hard disk slots available, with the T9-450 having nine slots and the T12-450 having twelve slots, corresponding to their respective names. These solutions support both 3.5 and 2.5-inch hard drives as well as SSDs and can have a total capacity of up to 180 or 240 terabytes when using hard drives with a capacity of 20 terabytes each.

The processor used in these storage solutions is the Intel Atom C3558R, which features four computing cores that can operate at a fast speed of up to 2.4 GHz. The solutions come with 8 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM, which can be upgraded to up to 32 gigabytes using the two available slots. In addition to the hard drive slots, these storage solutions also come equipped with two M.2 2280 slots with a PCIe connection and one PCIe slot.

These network attached storage devices can be connected via Ethernet or two 2.5 GBit/s Ethernet ports, supplemented by two SFP+ connections. The optical connections allow a data transmission rate of 10 GBit/s, and a data transmission rate of up to 20 GBit/s can be achieved through link aggregation using multiple connections.

The TOS 5 operating system, which promises over 50 new functions and more than 600 improvements compared to its predecessor, is also supported by these best NAS storage solutions. In addition to pure data storage, these NAS solutions also support a variety of data services, including SMB, NFS, and WebDAV, and come equipped with authorization management.

Thanks to the high storage capacity and fast network connection, these storage solutions are perfect for editing high-resolution video material and are also suitable for virtualization or databases.
