The Taiwanese company BenQ lists with the EW3880R a new 37.5-inch ultrawide curved monitor for business and office purposes. The built-in IPS panel has a resolution of 3840 x 1600 pixels (UWQHD +, 21: 9) at a maximum of 60 Hz, is curved at 2300 R, and supports HDR10.
The latter should not be particularly convincing due to the mediocre brightness of 300 cd/m². Further technical features of the new wide screen monitor are a 1000: 1 contrast ratio, a 4 ms gray-to-grey response time, 10-bit color depth, and 95 percent DCI-P3. Two internal 3-watt speakers including an 8-watt subwoofer take care of the sound reproduction if required.
The range of interfaces includes two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4, a headphone output, a USB 3.0 hub, and USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode and 60-watt power delivery.
With the exception of a pivot, all common mechanical adjustment options are available in this new wide monitor, namely rotation, inclination, and height adjustment. A VESA mounting (100 x 100 mm), a blue light filter, and flicker-free background lighting are also used. A mode for people with color vision impairment can be activated via OSD.
