Asus has introduced the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro, which is now the flagship model among the branded routers. This new product with eight antennas promises high throughput and supports four Wi-Fi bands simultaneously.
The manufacturer reports that the ROG GT-BE98 Pro operates in the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands plus two different 6 GHz bands, and reaches 30 Gbit/s of total throughput. The Asus ROG GT-BE98 Pro also features Ethernet ports, two of which have connection speeds of up to 10 Gbps, with one set for high priority regardless of other settings.
The new firmware includes several functions designed for gamers as well. The company emphasizes hardware optimization for cloud gaming, plus a special mode for mobile games that manages traffic allocation to the gadget with the least latency. The Asus BE98 Pro includes commercial-grade AiProtection Pro powered by Trend Micro to shield your network from cyber threats.
Multi-link operation allows simultaneous connection on multiple frequency bands, boosting speeds from aggregated bandwidth, and enhancing the reliability of Wi-Fi connections on multiple concurrently used bands. Connecting to multiple bands in this manner enables “seamless switching” to the most suitable band to mitigate latency.
The ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro sustains performance through an aluminum plate with an abrasive-blasted nanocarbon layer, a 2-centimeter stand, and a specially designed vent and heat spreader, providing optimized heat dissipation.
