Optoma UHZ35ST 4K laser theatre projector with 3,500 Lumens

Optoma claims that its latest 4K laser theatre projector offers just about all the benefits of its predecessor in a body that has been reduced in size by 34%. These potential benefits include an “ultra-low” latency 240Hz/1080p Gaming mode, “flexible” short-throw technology, and HDMI 2.0. The Optoma UHZ35ST 4K UHD projector for home theater also features eco-friendly features such as energy-efficient operation and a 50% post-consumer recyclable plastic chassis.

Optoma proudly claims to be “the #1 brand in the world and USA in projection technology,” which may explain their confidence in presenting the UHZ35ST as a sort of refresh of an existing model. In essence, the UHZ35ST is very similar to the UHD35STx, albeit with a slightly reduced size, estimated at 66%.

The new 4K laser theater projector retains Optoma’s renowned 240Hz/1080p Gaming Mode, offering an impressively low input lag of just 4 milliseconds (ms). However, this input lag may increase to 16.9ms when the UHZ35ST reverts to its standard 4K/60Hz image quality.

Nevertheless, Optoma asserts that this projector delivers “superior colorimetric performance” with a “high” brightness rating of 3,500 lumens (compared to the UHD35STx’s 3,600 lumens), thanks to its DuraCore light source.

This light source is also praised for its exceptional durability, offering a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours in Eco mode, a common feature of laser projectors.

In terms of connectivity, the UHZ35ST retains two HDMI 2.0 ports, along with a 3.5 mm jack, an Ethernet port, and a powered USB Type-A port.
