Asus ZenBeam L2 Android TV projector with built-in battery and speakers

Asus is introducing the ZenBeam L2, a new smart projector offering wireless projection and Android TV capabilities. This model is designed to provide playback functionality without the need for an external player and includes a high-quality Harman Kardon sound system.

The Asus ZenBeam L2 employs LED technology, a common feature in compact projectors. As expected, it offers a relatively modest level of brightness, specifically rated at 960 LED lumens, equivalent to 400 ANSI lumens—considered relatively low in the projector world.

While the ZenBeam L2 can handle 4K content, its native resolution stands at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, conforming to the Full HD standard. The projector features a projection ratio of 1.2:1, allowing for projection distances ranging from 0.8 to 3.2 meters and diagonal screen sizes spanning from 30 to 120 inches. The device also boasts autofocus and keystone correction functionality.

Equipped with a 65 Wh battery, the ZenBeam L2 can operate independently of a power source for up to 3.5 hours. However, it’s worth noting that achieving this runtime at full brightness may be challenging since the projector’s maximum power consumption exceeds 90 watts. Connectivity options include HDMI for video input, a USB Type C port supporting DisplayPort and USB PD, and a USB Type-A port for connecting external storage devices.

Measuring 132 x 172 x 132 millimeters and weighing 1.57 kilograms, the ZenBeam L2 runs on Android TV 12, providing direct access to streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube. It even offers the capability to project up to 26 different virtual windows, enhancing its versatility.

Asus ZenBeam L2 price and availability

The Asus ZenBeam L2, a smart portable LED projector with Android TV, is available for purchase at $722.77 on Amazon.com.

Earlier this year, Anker introduced the Nebula Mars 3 outdoor movie theater projector, a portable device capable of projecting images up to 200 inches in size. Designed for cinema nights during camping trips or in home gardens, this projector features a rugged and waterproof design with an IPX3 rating, ensuring resilience against various environmental conditions. It is priced at $990.99 / £879.99.
