The ZEISS have launched new lenses lines bearing the new Batis name for Sony full-frame E-mount cameras.
Two new ZEISS Batis 2/25 and ZEISS Batis 1.8/85 products are exclusively designed for Sony E-mount Camera. New lenses with a focal length 25mm, 85mm, while aperture f/2 and f/1.8 respectively. The ZEISS Batis lenses product line first time with autofocus capability for Sony’s E-mount.
The Product Manager of ZEISS Camera Lenses, Dr. Michael Pollmann also said “The Batis family of lenses is the first time we have launched autofocus lenses for Sony’s full-frame E-mount cameras which are ZEISS through and through – in other words exclusively developed and distributed by us.
The main highlight and unique features of the new ZEISS Batis line is integrated a cutting-edge OLED display focusing distance from the lens to the object and the aperture of the lens. Design of ZEISS Batis lens is quite similar to the Touit line the company has designed lens for Fujifilm X-mount and E-mount.
The ZEISS Batis 2/25 and ZEISS Batis 1.8/85 lenses are made from metal, round multi-function with smooth rubber coated layer. Both lenses are also used in the rain (weatherproof) suitable for outdoor conditions, users can use them without any protective equipment.
The ZEISS Batis 2/25 lens with a 10 elements in eight groups based on ZEISS Distagon lens line. Which includes four of the lens elements are aspheric on both sides and five are made from special types of glass. Closest focusing distance is only 20 centimeters quite suitable for close-up shooting.
Meanwhile, ZEISS Batis 1.8/85 lens with 11 elements in eight groups based on technology ZEISS Sonnar line, compared with the 2/25, 1.8/85 version uses optical image stabilization technology. Of course, when attached to the camera, the Sony Alpha A7 II lenses can also be anti-shake.
The both Sony Camera E Mount lenses are expected to be distributed from 7/2015 the price for version 1.8/85 is $ 1,199 and for 2/25 is $ 1,300.
