Suunto has unveiled its latest wearable, the Race smartwatch, tailored specifically for runners and fitness enthusiasts. This GPS sport wearable is equipped with an AMOLED display boasting a remarkable brightness of 1,000 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even in bright sunlight. Compared to its predecessor, the Suunto Vertical (approx. £550 / $629 on Amazon), the Race model offers notable improvements. The new GPS Sport variant sports a larger 1.43-inch screen with a higher resolution of 466 x 466 px, enhancing the clarity of information displayed. One of its standout features is the ability to measure heart rate variability (HRV), providing valuable insights into your recovery process. Additionally, an AI coach is integrated to optimize your workouts and keep you motivated.

Among its diverse array of tools are GPS tracking, specialized running pace apps, and a collection of over 95 sports modes, allowing you to accurately record a wide range of activities. The watch also includes free offline maps, aiding your navigation during runs. Despite the absence of solar cells, the Race smartwatch delivers impressive performance. It offers 12 days of battery life under regular use. In Performance mode, it can last up to 40 hours, and by disabling the HR sensor and exercise recording, you can extend the battery life to 26 days.
