Samsung Galaxy M53 5G with a 120 Hz AMOLED display and 108 MP quad camera

Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy M53 5G. The new mid-range smartphone relies on a fairly inconspicuous design, but thanks to the 120 Hz AMOLED display and the 108 MP quad camera, the equipment of the Samsung M53 is exciting.

Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy A53 5G, albeit without much fanfare via a product page. The main difference between the design and the Galaxy A53 5G (approx. $350 on Amazon) is the square camera module.

On the other hand, the Samsung M53 is similar to the Galaxy A73 5G, even if there are differences in the processor. As usual, Samsung does not specify which SoC is installed, but the technical data match the MediaTek Dimensity 900, which combines two powerful ARM Cortex-A78 cores at 2.4 GHz with six economical Cortex-A55 at 2.0 GHz. There is also 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory, which can be expanded with a microSD memory card.

The 108 megapixels f/1.8 rear camera on the Samsung Galaxy M53 5G does not have optical image stabilization (OIS). There is also an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, two 2 MP sensors, and a 32 MP selfie camera. The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display offers a 1080p+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The fingerprint sensor has been integrated into the power button on the side of the device.

The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and is charged with up to 25 watts. In addition to the integrated 5G modem, the device also supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.2. The smartphone comes with One UI 4.1 based on Android 12. Samsung has not yet confirmed whether the device will receive four major Android updates and five years of security patches, just like the latest models in the Galaxy A series.
