Optoma has recently unveiled two innovative portable RGB triple laser projectors, the ML1080 and ML1080ST. These projectors are capable of delivering stunning images up to 100 inches in size, boasting a wide BT2020 color gamut. Remarkably lightweight at just 1 kg, these projectors redefine portability and convenience.
The ML1080 and ML1080ST mark a significant advancement as they are the first portable premium RGB triple laser projectors featuring the expansive BT2020 color spectrum. Typically, such color richness is found in larger, more expensive home theater projectors. Optoma’s marketing claims of “razor-sharp colors, incredible brightness, and versatile usage options for various immersive installations and professional applications on the go” are substantiated by these projectors’ impressive specifications.
Both models offer a Full HD resolution (1080p) and a respectable brightness of 1,200 lumens, thanks to their RGB triple laser light source.
The Optoma ML1080ST, with its short throw ratio of 0.78:1 (ML1080: 1.2:1), can project a 100-inch image from a mere 1.5 meters away from the screen or wall. This feature proves invaluable in confined spaces, such as small meeting rooms. Equipped with Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology, these projectors simplify setup with automatic geometry and focus correction.
One of the standout features of these projectors is their exceptional portability. Weighing only 1 kg, the ML1080 and ML1080ST are incredibly easy to transport and set up, making them ideal for mobile applications. While they do not have built-in batteries, they can be powered remotely using the USB-C port, compatible with standard power banks.
