OnePlus 12R gaming smartphone with 120Hz AMOLED is now in the USA

The OnePlus 12R, alongside the OnePlus 12, is a new smartphone targeting video gamers specifically, featuring a high-performance SoC. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is tailored to provide a high refresh rate, catering to the demands of intense gaming.

The built-in LTPO 4.0 AMOLED boasts a dynamic refresh rate, ranging from 1 to 120 Hz, ensuring a seamlessly smooth display, responding swiftly to user swipes across the touchscreen. The 6.78-inch screen, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, houses the fingerprint sensor, while the touch sampling rate can reach up to 1,000 Hz.

With a weight of 207 grams and a thickness of 8.8 millimeters, the One Plus 12 R offers variations in RAM (8 or 16 GB) and internal memory (128 or 256 GB). The 5,500 mAh battery supports rapid charging with a 100-watt output.

Equipped with a 50-megapixel IMX890 sensor as the main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera covering 112°, and a macro lens, the main camera features optical image stabilization. The front camera boasts a resolution of 16 megapixels.

The device includes two nano SIM card slots and, in line with the current trend, omits a headphone jack, allowing for connectivity via USB Type-C or Bluetooth. The USB Type-C port supports the USB 2.0 standard for data transfer. While the OnePlus 12 R doesn’t incorporate special shoulder buttons found in gaming smartphones, it does feature dual speakers.

OnePlus 12R price in USA and release date

The OnePlus 12R is available for pre-order on Amazon.com, starting at a recommended price of $499.99 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and $599.99 for the model with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. It comes in Cool Blue and Iron Grey colors and is set for release on February 13, 2024.
