MSI introduced the MSI MPG 491CQP QD-OLED, a 49-inch gaming monitor, at CES 2024. The manufacturer may soon release six new QD-OLED gaming monitors, including this one. Recently, pricing details became available through an Amazon product page.
Like the other QD-OLED gaming monitors, the MPG 491CQP features Samsung’s second-generation QD-OLED panel and a fanless custom heatsink to maintain optimal operating temperatures. It also utilizes OLED Care 2.0 for anti-burn-in protection and a special layer for minimal light reflections.
The MPG 491CQP QD-OLED uses the same panel as the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD and Philips Evnia 49M2C8900. It boasts a 5120 x 1440 pixel resolution (DQHD) with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The 49-inch panel has a curvature of 1800R, similar to the MAG 341CQP QD-OLED.
Additional features include a 0.03 ms fast gray change, 10-bit color depth, DisplayHDR True Black 400, ClearMR 8000, 250 cd/m² typical brightness, and a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1. It also offers 146 percent sRGB, 99 percent DCI-P3, 98 percent Adobe RGB, and a Delta-E value of less than 2 for color accuracy.
The monitor supports Adaptive Sync to eliminate image tearing in games, most likely through FreeSync Premium or FreeSync Premium Pro. It also has HDMI 2.1 for ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), 120 Hz, and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) compatibility on modern game consoles. You can access gaming features like a smart crosshair overlay and sniper scope through the OSD, and “AI Vision” can enhance color saturation as an automatic black stabilizer.
