LG’s new portable XBOOM XL7 2.1 tower speaker take the RGB lighting of its XBOOM series and reimagine it in a whole new way. The light ring that surrounds the front-facing main speaker is joined by a matrix LED display that can display a range of animations, text banners, or other effects, some of which can be customized in the application.
LG pitches it as a party X Boom Bluetooth speaker that features a new “Dot Matrix LED” display that allows users to personalize their speaker with a combination of colors and dynamic ring lighting movements. The standing speaker system can also display custom text and visual effects available from a library of animations, patterns, and characters – right from the LG XBOOM app.
The latter is generated by the large RGB display around the portable tower’s main speaker enclosure, topped with an old-school LED matrix that can be set to display Space Invader’s full color.
Users can also configure them to read personalized text or reproduce original effects. Additionally, the LG XBOOM XL7 2.1 tower speakers have an output power of 250 watts (W) through its 8-inch “full-range” woofer. woofer and its 2.5-inch tweeter 2.5-inch tweeter .
This new LG XBOOM XL7 tower speaker has an IPX4 water-resistant rating, with a telescopic handle and smooth gliding wheels for convenient movement. LG claims the portable standing speaker system has a battery that can last 20 hours per charge, albeit with the LEDs off and connectivity ideal.
The XL7 X Boom Bluetooth speaker can be controlled using its physical top-mounted controls or through the same XBOOM app that allows control or customization of its Bluetooth matrix LED lighting in addition to an AUX input.
