Leica M Monochrom Type 246 with live view and a wider ISO range Launched

Leica M Monochrom Typ 246 is the latest upgrade of the monochrome line cameras.

Leica M Monochrom Typ 246 with many features inherited from the Leica M Typ 240. The camera has a Full Frame CMOS sensor with 24-megapixel resolution instead of the CCD 18-megapixel over its predecessor. Thanks to sensors without color filters, monochromatic image taken from Leica M Monochrom Camera which is an extremely sharp and the high contrast colors.

The maximum ISO of the camera expanded from 10,000 to 25,000 over the previous version. The camera with a Leica Maestro image processor chip as on Typ 240 versions, the ability to shoot Full HD video in black and white. In this new version, Leica equipped with the ability to watch live view and Focus Peaking features to assist users to easily focused edges in the picture are highlighted by colored lines.

The Leica M Monochrom Typ 246 is coming with a 3 inch LCD screen, a resolution of 921 thousand pixels and a 10X magnification. To ensure the quality of this screen, Leica uses Sapphire Crystal Glass to cover the outside. On the housing and design, the camera is made from magnesium alloy combined with brass details, dimensions are exactly the same as the Leica M typ 240.

Leica M Monochrome Typ 246 price $7,450, will go on sale from October 2015, and will be presented together with the Lightroom image processing application.
