Lenovo Legion Pro 7 2023 16-inch gaming laptop with AI cooling and RTX 4090

Along with the Legion Pro 5i 2023, Lenovo also made available the Legion Pro 7 2023. It combines an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU with artificial intelligence, which should allow the device to outperform all competitors in the same class. Buyers can choose between AMD Ryzen 7000 and Intel Raptor Lake-HX.

According to Lenovo, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 2023 is the most powerful 16-inch gaming notebook in the world, which is not only possible thanks to the powerful processors and graphics chips but also thanks to liquid metal cooling, which is powered by a dedicated LA2-Q-KI -Chip is controlled. Artificial intelligence should allow Lenovo to increase the TDP of the chips by 15 percent.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU is operated with a TGP of up to 175 watts, which achieves boost clock frequencies of up to 2,040 MHz. The graphics chip offers 16 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory. Alternatively, a GeForce RTX 4080 with 12 GB GDDR6 and a GeForce RTX 4070 with 8 GB GDDR6 are also available. When it comes to the processor, customers can choose between the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX and the Intel Core i9-13900HX. There is also up to 32 GB of LPDDR5-6,000 RAM and 2 TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage.

Lenovo installs a 16-inch IPS panel in 16:10 format that achieves a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, a frame rate of 240 Hz, and a brightness of 500 nits. The 25.9 millimeters thick, 2.8-kilogram light notebook has a keyboard with RGB lighting and a 99.9 Wh battery, which should enable a runtime of up to twelve hours for the AMD model and up to eight hours for the Intel version.

The notebook can be charged with up to 140 watts via USB-C while on the move; the 330-watt hollow plug power supply unit is required for full power. The Intel model offers at least one advantage – a Thunderbolt 4 connection, while AMD only has USB-C 3.2 Gen 2. In any case, Lenovo installs three USB-A, HDMI 2.1, and Ethernet as well as 2 x 2-watt stereo speakers.
