Venus Optics launches Laowa 85mm F5.6 2X Ultra Macro APO for L Mount

Venus Optics has added an L mount version of the Laowa 85mm F5.6 2X Ultra Macro APO to its fleet of optics. It is the smallest 2x full-frame macro lens made specifically for mirrorless cameras.

Retaining all its advantages such as ultra-compact, 2x zoom, APO, etc., it is a new, convenient tool for close-up shooting with L-mount cameras, which will surely delight users of Panasonic, Leica L, and Sigma cameras, as Laowa optics are distinguished by quality, thoughtful functionality and – importantly – democratic pricing.

The 2x zoom lens is extremely small compared to other 1x macro lenses on the market. It weighs only 259g and measures Ø63×84.51mm. The Laowa 85mm f/5.6 can focus from 2x zoom to infinity, providing more flexibility for users. Photographers can now get much more detail.

The lens contains 3 extra-low dispersion elements that eliminate color fringing both in and out of focus. Enlarged images without chromatic aberrations will save a lot of time and effort in post-processing. The lens design does not extend when changing the focus. This avoids collisions and prevents dust from entering the lens.
