In addition to the ZFold 5, ZFlip 5, and Tab S9 tablet series, Samsung has unveiled four new models in the Galaxy Watch 6 series. A major highlight of the classic version is the reintroduction of the rotating bezel ring, which not only increases the display size but also brings forth a fresh collection of straps. Furthermore, there are notable improvements in tracking and healthcare features.
Samsung’s strapless design, aptly named One Click, simplifies the process of changing straps. Users can effortlessly switch between various strap styles to suit their individual preferences.
The latest Samsung Watch 6 will boast a larger screen compared to its predecessor, measuring 1.31 inches as opposed to 1.19 inches. Additionally, the black bezel has been slimmed down by 30% from the Galaxy Watch5 model.
Despite the changes in the Galaxy Watch6 series, Samsung has retained the same two watch face sizes: 40mm and 44mm. This indicates that there will likely be more display space on the Watch6, complemented by a thinner screen border for a more appealing aesthetic.
The 40mm Galaxy Watch6 and 43mm Galaxy Watch6 Classic feature a 1.3-inch diagonal round AMOLED display, boasting a resolution of 432 x 432 pixels. On the other hand, the 44mm and 47mm models come with a 1.5-inch display, offering 480 x 480 pixels. The display achieves an impressive brightness of 2,000 nits, and the screen is safeguarded by sapphire glass to prevent scratches. In the Classic model, Samsung brings back the bezel featured in the Galaxy Watch4 Classic, enabling users to rotate it for menu navigation in Wear OS and zoom into apps.
Beyond the wider screen, the Watch 6 also presents very thin bezels, resulting in an elegant overall look, especially appealing to those with smaller or female wrists. On the side, there are still two buttons to control the device. From this angle, you can appreciate the watch’s slim profile.
At the back of the watch lies a sensor known as the multi-feature sensor, boasting an improved green light that ensures a more comfortable wearing experience, even in the dark.
The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will feature a selection of more masculine colors and advanced technology. The design of the Samsung watch case seems to have undergone positive changes, making it comfortable to wear on the wrist despite its larger size.
Notably, the presence of the bezel ring offers a pleasant and convenient control option, particularly for individuals with larger fingers or for situations like swimming or being in the rain, where touchscreen controls may be less practical.
The Galaxy Watch6 series comes equipped with the Exynos W930 (5nm) processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB storage memory. The battery capacity for the Galaxy Watch6 Classic varies, with 425mAh for the 44mm model and 300mAh for the 40mm model. Additionally, both models support fast charging and weigh 59g (47mm) and 52g (43mm) respectively.
Another noteworthy addition is the wide variety of strap options available, ranging from rubber to leather and fabric, with various buckle choices for users to personalize their experience. Recognizing that a watch serves as both a health monitoring device and a fashion item, offering diverse strap options provides users with more choices to suit their styles.
As for features, the Watch 6 Series has received significant upgrades in health monitoring capabilities, particularly concerning heart and sleep monitoring. Notable functionalities include blood pressure measurement, ECG measurement, and heart rate alerts. The sleep monitoring feature is especially advanced, as it begins analyzing each individual’s sleep patterns after seven days of wearing the watch. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is now open for pre-order on both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, and deliveries are scheduled to commence on August 11.
