Denon Audio has officially launched a new Bluetooth soundbar named Home Sound Bar 550 with support for AirPlay 2 connectivity. With this Denon Soundbar, users will have the ability to stream music, podcasts, and a variety of entertainment content directly from iOS devices to the Atmos soundbar.
Denon Home Sound Bar 550 supports WiFi, Bluetooth connections to stream music from Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, and several other services. The Denon soundbar also allows connecting to the TV with HDMI cable and also compatible with Roku TV. AirPlay 2 connection exclusively for Apple iOS devices.
The Home Sound Bar 550 is equipped with 6 drivers and compatible with popular formats Dolby Atmos, DTS: X, in addition to the Denon HEOS feature for multi-room wireless setup using apps for iPhone and iPad.
The best Dolby Atmos soundbar measures 650 x 75 x 120mm and weighs 3.5 kilograms. Inside it, we find a configuration with six drivers divided into 2 tweeters of 19 mm and 4 full-range of 55 mm. The low frequencies are entrusted to 3 passive radiators (2 on the front and 1 on the back) of 50 x 90 millimeters.
If desired, you can expand the system by adding wireless rear Denon speakers and a subwoofer, in order to create a real multi-channel audio system. Compatible products are Denon Home 150, 250, and 350 speakers (HEOS range products are also supported) and the DSW-1H subwoofer.
Connectivity includes Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirPlay 2. High-resolution audio files in FLAC, WAV, ALAC 192 kHz / 24-bit, and DSD 2.8 and 5.6 MHz formats are also supported.
Among the features, we point out the integration of Alexa and therefore the possibility of giving voice commands to control the device. There is no need to add an external speaker to enable this type of interaction. On the top, among the controls on the control panel (which lights up when your hand is brought closer), there is also the one to silence Alexa. Note that Amazon’s assistant will not be available from launch but will arrive with a firmware update in spring 2021.
