Corsair MP600 Micro Compact SSD reads up to 5GB per second

Corsair has launched the NVMe MP600 Micro, a new SSD tailored to compact dimensions, as its name suggests. The Corsair 1TB M.2 SSD is aimed at gaming handhelds, ensuring high-speed performance.

This latest addition to Corsair’s lineup, the 1TB MP600 Micro, is notably compact. This design makes it a viable option for small notebooks and particularly gaming handhelds, where the standard M.2 2280 format, measuring 80 millimeters in length, might not fit due to its smaller size. It is compatible with the Lenovo Legion Go and other thin and light devices.

The Corsair NVMe 1TB MP600 Micro is shaped in the M.2 2242 format, maintaining a width of 22 millimeters but reducing the length to just 42 millimeters. It connects to devices via up to four PCIe 4.0 lanes, promising a non-restrictive link.

Corsair claims sequential read speeds of up to 5,100 MB/s and write speeds of up to 4,300 MB/s. The SSD also boasts random read processes of up to 600,000 per second and write processes of up to 890,000 per second. It will load games, boot Windows, and open and transfer files, all faster than ever.

Corsair specifies the average power consumption at 4.3 watts. They estimate its lifespan at 1,500,000 hours (MTBF), with a data write capacity of 600 terabytes, though this doesn’t imply immediate obsolescence.
