Asus unveils Vivobook S 16 Flip 2023 with Touch display and AMD Ryzen 7000

With the VivoBook S 16 Flip 2023, Asus has introduced a new convertible that relies on AMD Ryzen 7000, but on variants based on the older Zen 3 architecture. Because the model with an IPS panel relies on the AMD Ryzen 5 7530U, the OLED variant is equipped with the Ryzen 7 7730U. Customers get six to eight processor cores and the outdated AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 iGPU.

The outdated architecture is also noticeable in the connections because you won’t find USB 4.0 on the Asus VivoBook S 16 Flip 2023, instead, Asus has installed a USB-C connection (10 Gbit/s) and three USB-A ports, one of which only USB 2.0 supported. There is also Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Asus installs 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 1 TB PCIe 3.0 SSD.

The 16-inch 16:10 display is optionally available as an IPS panel with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, a brightness of 300 nits, and an image frequency of 60 Hz, which can only display 45 percent of the NTSC color space.
