Introducing its new Asus 24 1080p gaming monitor to the lineup, Asus TUF Gaming VG249Q3A, a sibling to the recently unveiled ELMB Sync display, the TUF Gaming VG279Q3A. In a departure from its larger counterpart, this model seems to forego the fusion of anti-tearing technology and anti-blur functionality.
The Asus VG249Q3A showcases a 23.8-inch IPS panel, boasting Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), a refresh rate of 180 Hz, and an impressive 99 percent coverage of the sRGB color space.
Among its notable specifications, the Asus 24 1080p gaming monitor features a swift 1 ms gray-to-gray response time, a typical brightness measuring 250 cd/m², a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and an 8-bit color depth. Furthermore, it comes equipped with a suite of features including a black stabilizer, an fps display, switchable crosshair overlays, and built-in 2-watt speakers.
While the ELMB Sync technology is absent from the Asus VG249Q3A, it’s worth noting that G-Sync compatibility, DisplayHDR certification, and HDR support, in general, are conspicuously missing as well. At least, these aspects do not find mention in the product page or datasheet. However, the monitor does not lack other key features. FreeSync Premium, Variable Overdrive, and ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur), a mode designed to mitigate motion blurring in dynamic scenes, are indeed included.
In terms of connectivity, the monitor offers two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.2, and a headphone output. The refresh rate of 180 Hz at Full HD resolution is attainable across all graphic interfaces. As for ergonomics, the TUF Gaming VG249Q3A presents tilt adjustment, VESA mount compatibility (100 x 100 mm), blue light filtering, and a flicker-free backlight.
The Asus VG249Q3A draws less than 18 watts of power, weighs 2.9 kg sans stand, and measures 541 x 323 x 58 mm (W x H x D).
