The Asus PN41 mini barebones PC is finally available to buy after a long delay. The mini desktop PC is equipped with a current Intel processor and a particularly fast Ethernet connection.
We reported on the Asus PN51 at the beginning of the year. Like its predecessor, the PN41 is a mini Barebones PC with an Intel processor. The new PN41 variant does little fundamentally different – Asus primarily operates model updates.
The biggest real innovation: The Asus PN41 is no longer only equipped with Gigabit Ethernet, but comes with a 2.5 Gbit/s fast Ethernet port. In practice, this should only make a relevant difference if large amounts of data are constantly being transferred from or to a high-performance server in your own appropriately equipped network. A Realtek chip provides the Ethernet port.
At the moment Asus PN41-BBF4000AFC is listed online and is based on the Intel Celeron N4500, whose two cores clocked at up to 2.8 GHz. A comparatively small working memory of four gigabytes is installed, the same applies to the SSD, which is only 128 gigabytes.
The system weighs 700 grams and measures 11.5 x 11.5 x 4.9 centimeters and can also establish wireless contact with a network via WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, whereby Bluetooth 5.0 is also supported. A card reader is ready, Windows 10 Pro is installed. The use as a media center is also facilitated by the integrated infrared sensor. In addition to the HDMI port, there is also a VGA output and a Type C USB 3.1 Gen port, which can also output images via DisplayPort.
A single USB Type C port also complies with the USB 3.1 Gen 2 standard. A microphone array for direct use of digital assistants is part of the equipment.
