Porsche Design and AOC present the Agon Pro PD27S gaming monitor

Porsche Design and AOC have jointly introduced a new 1440p gaming monitor that offers an eye-catching design with a robust base made of sandblasted aluminum and large-area RGB lighting. A color-true and fast IPS panel is the heart of the AOC PD27S.

Porsche Design AOC PD27S

Porsche Design and AOC announced the Agon Pro PD27S, the best 27 inch gaming monitor based on an IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 170 Hz (overclocked) and 165 Hz (native). Adaptive Sync is said to prevent tearing as long as a frame rate of at least 48 fps is reached. Additionally, the monitor supports a full display of the sRGB color space and 97% of the DCI-P3 color space, ensuring accurate and consistent color reproduction.

AOC specifies a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and a brightness of 350 nits. The AOC gaming monitor is certified according to VESA DisplayHDR 400 so that a peak brightness of at least 400 nits is achieved when displaying HDR content. The screen has an anti-reflective surface. AOC installs two HDMI 2.0 and two DisplayPort 1.4, but no USB-C port. There are at least four USB-A ports and a headphone jack.

The Agon PD27S has 2 x 5-watt stereo speakers. The highlight of this model, however, is the design, which is inspired by sports cars, from the sandblasted aluminum base to the large-area RGB lighting on both sides of the screen. The stand allows the monitor to be rotated to portrait format and adjusted in height by 15 centimeters.

Price and availability

The Porsche Design AOC Agon Pro PD27S is currently listed on Bhphotovideo.com at a recommended retail price of $499.99. This makes the monitor significantly more expensive when compared to the AOC Gaming Q27G2S (approx. $300 / £264 on Amazon) has almost identical specifications.
